The main idea of our competition Bitfilm 48h is to create a film in just two days. It must take place in Hamburg's nightlife district St.Pauli.
There are no limits in technique or genre. The maximum length is 3 minutes. And that's how it works:
1. Please register on the bottom of this page. By registering you receive a free membership for the
Bitfilm Club, our networking platform for film professionals.
2. Three objects and three words have to appear in the film. On Thursday, August 30 at 3 pm at the info counter in the festival tent we will tell you which ones to use.
3. The participation fee is 10 Euros. Please pay in cash at the info counter in the festvial tent.
4. At the Spielbudenplatz in the Bitfilm festival tent we will provide several Mac edit suites.
Guided by video experts from Hamburg's leading Apple Reseller Hamburg 4 you may use Final Cut Pro to edit your film there.
5. All films have to be submitted as a DVD by Saturday, September 1, 3 pm at the Bitfilm festival tent.
6. The Bitfilm team selects the best films for the public screening, which will take place on Saturday, September 1 at 10 pm at the open air stage on Spielbudenplatz. All nominated films will win a Final Cut Pro workshop worth 1200 Euros at the Hamburg 4 Classroom.
7. The audience will decide by SMS voting about the winner film and the prize money of 1500 Euros.
8. The winners will be disclosed at the Bitfilm VJ Party at the Mandarin Kasino which starts at 11:30 pm.
